Chad's Bday

Last Sunday Chad and I did dinner and a movie to celebrate him turning 38! We went to "couples retreat", and out to Shogun's. As soon as the movie is over I hit the ground running to the restroom. As I'm waiting for Chad to come out, he is limping. "What happened?", I ask. He climbed over the railing that is in front of the first row of chairs, and jumped down to the ground. He said he heard a pop and appeared to be in some pain, but maybe he could just walked it off, and still wanted to go out to eat.
Shogun's was great, and Chad had some glenlevit to attempt to ease his pain. As the dinner is over and we are about to get up, he looks at me and says I don't know if I can walk out of this place. I absolutely cannot read my husband when it comes to extreme pain! I was wondering why in the world we hadn't gone home at least since going to a doctor and finding out if it was broken was out of the question. No way is Chad going to wear a cast for 6wks. and as heartless as it sounds...I don't want to deal with my husband in a cast for 6wks!!
Anyway, I get right next to him and tell him to use me as support, and we hobbled our way to the vehicle. After getting home, of course, I force him to ice it, wrap his ankle, and elevate it above his heart.
Next morning...he is headed to work, and I'm not going to stop him. I mean really there is no stopping him and all my attempts would've failed. So, I'm following him up the stairs out the door, as he is slowly making his way, slightly bent over. I'm wondering how he will get thru the day, and he turns and looks at me and says, "I don't know how this happened, but I think I pulled a back muscle while I was sleeping." While I'm a bit stunned at how something like this happens...I have a big smile and say, "wow, 38 really looks great on you!" We both share a good laugh. As of now, we have yet to go to a doctor, we are pretty sure it is not broke, and his back still seems to be the worst of his problems.

Pants II

We have made it to Omaha for the wedding. We are hours before it starts, getting dressed, and Chad looks at me after putting on his pants, and says...these are too long and I can't wear them!! I just looked at him with a glazed over look, thinking of myself running around trying to find 36" length pants. I still have that glazed over look now as I writing this story. I politely said, you are wearing the pants : ) ...end of story.

Pants

So, it is 2 days away from my sister's wedding...
A week ago I asked Chad to try on an old suit to see how it fit and if we need something new. He tells me it is just a little snug, but should work. The following days after trying on the suit he starts working out. So, Tuesday he works out for 2 hours after working 10 hours. So, I ask him why he is working out like a mad man? He tells me that he needs to lose 5lbs. before the weddding in order to be comfortable in the suit.
So yesterday begins my search for some new pants for him. Evidently, 36 length pants have to be special ordered!! After hours of searching around town, I walk into Dillards into the big & tall section. There is one pair of pants with 36 length!! What happens when new pants enter the wardrobe? new shoes, new socks, tie, shirt, etc...ahhhhh! This story seemed much more dramatic yesterday than it does typed out today...oh well that's life.

Coming up short

Chad and I just spent 4 1/2 hrs. watching the Wimbeldon finals. Watching Andy Roddick play the best tennis I have ever seen him play against Roger was fantastic, and watching him shank that last ball just made me sick and sad. Someone who has so much potential and reaching new heights after playing for so many years is inspiring, and yet coming up short is too cruel of an outcome. Does Roger deserve 15 grand slam titles, absolutely. I just didn't want him to get it this time.

Lindsay is gone.

Today is a sad day. Lindsay left for Romania today with a one way ticket and an indefinite timeline. I can no longer pick up the phone and talk to my sister. Tomorrow will be better, but today the world is a little less bright on this side of the pond.

Wow, it has been 7 months.

You know I figured if I didn't post on the this blogspot eventually it would delete itself. Evidently not.

Chad and I traveled to Cosmic Cavern this weekend, just north of Berryville. I would encourage a day trip to go check it out. $14 per adult, for about an hour. It is cool to see these caves and under ground lakes. I will warn that the place appears a bit redneck, and our tour guide nearly drove Chad and I crazy talking about her family problems...but hey, we are in Arkansas. On your way back home stop in Eureka Springs for a meal and then walk the hill past the shops, and you've just had what I call a "mini vacation".

2 weeks to play for all the marbles.

This last weekend was fantastic! We beat Wayland Baptist, and Lubbock Christian who was ranked 23rd in the country. There is no way to describe beating a foe in a long fought battle. In two weeks is the conference tournament, and our chance at the national tournament!!
